What is Scaffolding?

Scaffolding is a man made temporary support & platform use to hold man & material during work at height.

What is Scaffolding Tag?

Scaffolding Tag is a card or it may be a note used to attach on scaffolding, which shows the condition of scaffolding i.e scaffolding is safe or unsafe.

Types of Scaffolding Tag?

Mainly there are two groups of scaffolding Tag.

1. Green Tag & Red Tag.

2. Green Tag , Yellow Tag  & Red Tag.

Any one of them followed by any organisation as per their requirement & HSE Plan.

Lets discuss about 1st one. 

Types of Scaffolding Tag/Colour code of scaffolding Tag 

Green Tag: - If green tag is placed on any scaffolding then it shows that scaffolding is safe for use, you can work on scaffold with full fall protection. (Life line with full body harness)

Red Tag: - If red tag is placed on any scaffold it means scaffolding is not safe or it is under erection or dismantling. (Note: - Scaffolding team can work on red tag scaffold with fall protection)

Now in 2nd  case: -

Green Tag: - If green tag is placed on any scaffolding then it shows that scaffolding is safe for use, you can work on scaffold without full fall protection, in some companies green tag placed only on scaffold below 2 meter 

Yellow Tag: - If yellow tag is placed on any scaffolding then it shows that scaffolding is safe for use, you can work on scaffold with full fall protection. (Life line with full body harness), here yellow Tag placed on critical and scaffolding above 2 meter.

Red Tag: - In case of red tag both scaffolding Tag system have same purpose, i.e If red tag is placed on any scaffold it means scaffolding is not safe or it is under erection or dismantling. (Note: - Scaffolding team can work on red tag scaffold with fall protection)
