National Safety Aptitude Test (NSAT) – Online Exam by National Safety Council
The National Safety Aptitude Test (NSAT) is a specialized examination conducted by the National Safety Council (NSC) to assess candidates' knowledge and skills in occupational health and safety. Introduced in 2022, NSAT aims to help industries recruit competent safety professionals, ensuring workplace safety and compliance with legal regulations.
Why is NSAT Important?
Safety is a critical aspect of industrial operations, and in India, appointing a safety officer is a legal mandate in certain factories and construction sites. However, many organizations go beyond legal requirements and proactively appoint safety officers, safety engineers, and technical executives to enhance workplace safety.
To address the growing demand for qualified safety professionals, the National Safety Council (NSC) launched NSAT as a standardized assessment tool. It helps industries evaluate prospective safety officers and engineers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge in safety science, laws, risk management, and leadership.
NSAT Categories
The NSAT is designed to cater to different industry sectors. The three main categories are:
- NSAT General – For technical executives, engineers, and aspiring safety officers in general industries.
- NSAT Oil & Gas Sector – For safety professionals, engineers, and executives working in the oil and gas industry.
- NSAT Construction Sector – For safety professionals, engineers, and executives in the construction sector.
Each category assesses candidates on general aptitude, safety knowledge, and environmental awareness, with specific focus areas based on industry needs.
